John and I enjoyed our conversation with the Chairperson of the Holt Fest, Mr. Chuck Grinnell. Chuck shared some information regarding the redesigned Holt Fest on August 17. He also mentioned that there will be a $500 prize for the best float this year! The Holt Fest will have music, a parade, arts/crafts, bingo, food and more! Finally, our free summer lunch program continues Monday-Friday at Hope School and in a variety of other locations at our mobile food bus!

John and I enjoyed learning more about the Holt Farmers Market today from Director, Chuck Grinnell! The Holt Farmers Market is open year round on Fridays from 2pm-6pm and again on Saturdays from 9am-2pm! Chuck shared that the Holt Honor Society students are vital to the Farmers Market success and he thanked our student volunteers! In addition, John shared some information regarding Music in the Park and I discussed our free summer reading program for children 18 and under at Hope School and in a neighborhood near you on our mobile food bus!

In addition, if you are interested in helping in our community, Chuck is always in search of volunteers to help during each Food Frenzy and on the weekends when the Farmers Market is open! John and I enjoyed our conversation today with the Executive Director of Helping Women Period, Lysne Tait. Helping Women Period provides menstrual products to homeless or low-income people. Holt Public has partnered with Helping Women Period and we will have products on our mobile food bus this summer. In addition to learning more about Helping Women Period, John and I also discussed several things regarding the Township and District respectively.

Here is our 136th consecutive Talk with us Tuesday Podcast! John and I enjoyed our conversation with Holt High Athletic Director, Renee Sadler. We specifically discussed high school athletics and our relationship with the Holt Lions Club. Annually the Lions host our varsity coaches and a student athlete for Sports Night! At this event, the Lions recognize the student athletes and thank the coaches! In addition, John and I shared some information related to the Township and District respectively.

Hey Holt Public! Today, John and I enjoyed reflecting on Memorial Day...and hope that everyone had the chance to thank a Veteran! We also discussed both Memorial Day parades (Dimondale and Holt) and were thrilled with our book giveaway outreach yesterday. We believe we distributed 1000 books during both parades! Finally, this is a busy time of year. John shared some important dates and I would like to remind everyone that Commencement is on Sunday at 4:30pm at the Breslin Center! We hope to see you there!
